Aphthous Ulcers: You may be suffering from aphthous ulcers, otherwise known as canker sores. They are ulcerations of the soft tissue within the oral cavity that can be quite painful. Their exact cause is not known, but they have been associated with stress (extraction) or local irritating factors. Return to the dentist for a follow-up. Treatment is usually palliative (pain control).
