Probably normal: Regularity of bleeding may take up to three months to regulate after having a baby. Addition of an hormonal contraceptive like the mini pill may increase the irregularity of bleeding until the pill regulates and stabilizes the lining of the uterus. Irregular and breakthrough bleeding may be more common when using the mini pill since there is no estrogen in those medications.
