Check with surgeon: You need to check with your surgeon's office for details concerning your specific case. In general, we prefer our post surgical patients to avoid air travel of greater than 1.5 hours for at least 10-14 days. No sound evidence one way or another on this issue. Goal is to avoid placing the postop patient in an environment where limited motion could lead to a DVT (leg clot).
