Hereditary Keloids: Keloids are really a pseudo tumor of scar tissue - formation of scar beyond the zone of injury. Heredity can be from either parent, more common in dark skinned individuals. Be especially careful of piercings, facial & earrings, facial trauma, and zone of cleavage. Any keloid can be painful.
