What does it mean if i have joint noises of the spine when turning my body? muscles feel tight also.

Spine noise: LeeP ~ at 19 yo it simply means you need to see more of the sunshine and less of a computer screen. Your muscles sound contracted and stiff. It sounds as though you really must do more exercise or at least mobilisation of all joints by exercise or even walking. You will FEEL so much more healthy as well !

Ligaments are tight: The bones of the spine are attached to each other by a tissue called ligaments. If these are tight, they will bring the bones closer, and, as you twist, the bones and cartilage rub over each other. As the boney irregularities slide over others, and the ligaments slide over these regions, they "snap" which you hear as a pop. Stretching exercises daily will help these decrease.

Exercise: For good health - Have a diet rich in fresh vegetables, fruits, whole grains, low fat milk and milk products, nuts, beans, legumes, lentils and small amounts of lean meats. Avoid saturated fats. Exercise at least 150 minutes/week and increase the intensity of exercise gradually. Do not use tobacco or alcohol. Practice safe sex. Get HPV vaccine.

Good sign: The noises mean that your skeleton's made out of something harder than paper yet more flexible than rock. This is a good thing. So long as you're not making metallic sounds (in which case I'd wonder if you weren't related to the Terminator) then, everything can be dealt with & MAYBE with some good stretching activities such as YOGA, SWIMMING, & maybe even CHEERLEADING, you can lessen the creaking.

Like knuckles crack: the spine has small joints called facet joints that make noise when they move to an extreme similar to cracking your knuckles. Some say this is good and some say this is not so good for you. It is probably best to focus on an extension stretching and strengthening program and not so much rotation for the health of your spine in the long term.
