Levofloxacin: Levaquin (levofloxacin) at 500mg a day is a ok dosage for urinary tract infection. however, i usually dose it at 750mg. The only time i reduce the dosage if the GFR (glomerular filtration rate) of your kidneys is lower. If you say kidney infection "this implies pylonephritis" and if this is the case your antibiotic dosage is not enough.
