Sun burn: stay in the shades, plenty of oral fluids, hydrocortisone cream 1% OTC, pain killers, if extensive or those measures won't work, see a doctor

NSAIDs: NSAID will likely reduce the inflammation and pain but probably would not offer faster healing. Be sure to keep the area clean to avoid secondary infection. Cool compresses may lessen the pain. In the final analysis, time is the cure for sunburn.
