A member asked:

My blood group is o+ and my husband's is b+. how can my baby be o-? is it possible? is o- blood type creates problems as it is very rare.

A doctor has provided 1 answer

This is fine: Both you and the child's father have one copy of the Rh Positive gene and one copy of the Rh Negative gene. Baby got both the negatives. This is common and it's fine. Dad has one dose of the O gene and one dose of the B gene; you have two copies of O. Baby got two O's. Again, this is fine. O-neg isn't rare, about 7% of folks in the US have it, and congratulations to you on being a mother. Cheers.
