Changes in bowel: ...function are often associated with menses. It is thought to be related to both hormonal changes as well as prostaglandins which affect smooth muscle contraction...in the uterine wall or colon. More frequent bowel movements, even diarrhea, are not uncommon. The good news: it will soon pass! If bothersome, OTC anti-diarrheals including loperamide can help. Good wishes:)
