Yes: That is correct. The muscles connected to the damaged nerves will not work correctly, or will not work at all. Other nerves that are undamaged will continue to send signals to their muscles, and keep them moving properly. However, muscles work together as groups of muscles. That means weakness or paralysis in a few muscles can make a limb malfunction even if other muscles in the limb are working.
