Drug intolerence: Codeine will commonly cause an upset stomach. You may want to contact your doctor about a different analgesic not containing codeine.

Pain Treatment.: The surgery itself would not be expected to have caused prolonged general sickness. You should inform the provider who prescribed your medication of cocdamol to see if it can be switched to some medicine which does not contain codeine.
