A member asked:

Got stung 3 times yesterday by yellow jackets. the sites have developed a tight, feverish rash; growing very large around the sting site and burns!

A doctor has provided 1 answer

LLR: Sound like a large local reaction (LLR) - not unexpected. Use an antihistamine in full doses - loratadine 10 mg once a day. Non steroidal anti inflammatory meds such as naproxen 500 twice a day. Cool compresses. Elevation. Usually peak out at about 48 hours then subside over a week. If too swollen or painful see doc to consider oral and topical steroids.
