A member asked:

What should happen if an old lady have 1 gm heamoglobin?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

What does SHE want?: She is seriously sick. She needs to be told what is the matter and what her choices are. If she has a non-treatable illness and little prospect of a life of good quality, she may opt for comfort measures only. If she is transfused now, she will probably feel much better in moments, and there is then a duty to find and treat the underlying cause (stomach ulcer?) Best wishes.
