Depends: If you have the HPV that causes genital warts then sometimes a specialist that does surgery of the throat may have to laser off the lesions. The other HPVs that cause cervical cancer can cause throat cancer as well. If you have a persistent throat issue see an ENT physician for evaluation. IF trying to get rid of the HPV, use a condom even with oral to lower exposure to aid your immune system.
