Local heating pad: The most common cause is a muscle strain or arthritis of either the hip joint or lower back. You can apply local heat such as a heating pad or rub with a mentholated cream. However, if the problem persists, see you doctor for an x-ray. And, by the way, avoid wearing high heels (at least for a while).
