Very unlikely: Depo Provera (medroxyprogesterone) is effective for 12 weeks, even longer in some women. Irregular brown discharge is very common in women on Depo, especially as they get closer to their next injection. I have some patients who find they need injections every 10 weeks instead of 12 because of this spotting. Just make sure you get that third injection.
