Fluids, fruits: Water doesn't have to be cold. Eat fruits, especially melon, cucumber, oranges, etc. Have soups, tea, liquid dairy, grains and other carbohydrates (watered carbons). Anything wet helps.

Water: In general nothing beats water for rehydration, in some cases gatorade like solutions are ok, but add calories. If there is really pain in the throat either the water is too cold or there is something wrong that needs a health care provider to evaluate.
