Fetal effects: Alcohol use in pregnancy may cause fetal alcohol syndrome and is more common with regular alcohol use than a rare and small intake. Tobacco has a number of effects from increased miscarriage, to poor fetal growth and still birth. Tobacco use causes many mild issues during the entire pregnancy.
