What is the fastest and most effective medicine for repeat outbreaks of genital herpes?

Antiviral medication: In the United States, we usually use valacyclovir or acyclovir. Antivirals work best if started at the very first symptom that an outbreak is going to occur. If my patient has 6 or more outbreaks per year, I have them take it daily to help prevent outbreaks.
