A member asked:

I had a tubal ligation in 2004 and my periods usually last 6 days but this time it's slowing down pretty quick. what could be wrong?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Probably nothing: Menstrual cycle variation is normal, especially after age 35. If still uncertain, perform a pregnancy test now and in 1 week. If negative, cycles will usually return to normal. If positive, see your doctor immediately, due to the high risk of a life-threatening ectopic pregnancy.
