Not clear: Without looking at it I can't tell you whether sutures are needed or not. That said I think anything around the eye should be evaluated by a doctor to assess the area for other injuries and to reduce the risk of infection. The eye is nothing to mess about with. See if your little one can't have his/her doc take a peek.

Lac on 3yr old eye: It depends on depth and size. Only a licensed doctor should make that decision.
