Mid back pain and ulq/epigastric pain for 3 mos. fatigue, tiredness, & trouble sleeping. went to er for severe pain 1 week ago, but blood work didn't show anything. back pain bad today. should i go to er and insist they do more? my pcp won't help.

Find an MD who will: Severe back pain might be related to problems that won't show up on blood work. Make another appointment with your PCP or ask him for a referral to a back specialist. If you are getting no answers, but have a legitamate problem, you should seek another opinion.

Get a new PCP: You need a complete physical exam and history. Possibly a MRI of the abdomine. See an interested physician
