Gastritis: If you know that bad gastritis has triggered your horrible insomnia, thus leading to severe anxiety, I wouldn't recommend marijuana to treat anxiety. Instead, I would recommend treating gastritis, whether w/ or w/o medications. Often non-pharmacologic options are enough - avoid offending foods, eat smaller meals, don't eat for several hrs prior to bedtime, prop up head of bed, etc.

Use something else: There are many good medications for anxiety. Psychiatrists and psychologists can also do "talk therapy" and behavioral modification. Smoking marijuana and/or other substance use can cause insomnia plus psychological and behavioral changes (either from the substances, the withdrawal symptoms from the substances, or both). Marijuana is not needed for treating anxiety.

Anxiety: What I hear in this question are symptoms of a great deal of anxiety. If any physical causes are ruled out, have you considered psychotherapy? Seriously. Get a referral to a reputable psychotherapist to discuss what is bothering you, and also find out if medication is warranted. Keep in mind, meds themselves don't solve anything and neither does weed. The real grunt work takes place in therapy.
