A member asked:

I've been on birth control for a year and am having spotting week before period. i haven't missed a pill and i don't have infection. is this normal?

Likely: Breakthrough bleeding is not uncommon. Next time you see your gynecologist, discuss using a different preparation of the pill. If you do not wish to be pregnant, use contraception all the time, every time. You may consider implanted contraceptive, or IUD. Practice safe sex. Get HPV vaccine.
