Hard to interpret: Notify heart surgeon of any unexpected respiratory symptoms following surgery and for those involving the heart in particular. This is because labored breathing could be from blood backing up into the lungs from heart failure. Review the post-op instructions/expectations and notify the surgical team for advice if this possibility has not been discussed.
