No way to tell: If a husband has sex with his wife on May 6, conception is on May 6, 7, 8, 9, 10, or 11. There is no way to tell. It depends on when his sperm meets the egg. It takes time for sperm to swim to the egg, so sex on May 6 often means sperm get near the ovaries on May 7. However, even if sperm are near the ovaries, she must ovulate in order to conceive (otherwise her egg is still inside the ovary).
