TMJ: Consider the possibility of a TMJ problem. The most common cause of ear pain not related to ear problems. Assoicated symptoms include joint clicking, limited oral opening, headache. See orofacial-TMJ expert. Any dentist can be a TMJ expert with the proper training and experience. Most commonly, oral surgeons, prosthodontists, and orofacial pain specialists. Ask MD, dentist, your dental society.
