A member asked:

I'm very concerned about this because i've heard a lot of people say the phone can overcharged and you can electrocute yourself. is this true?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Don't think so...: Cell phones run on about 4 volts (less than half the voltage of a typical 9 volt battery used for smoke alarms). We humans have skin that is not a good conductor of electricity, which is why we can hold both ends of 9 volt batteries without any problem. If the phone batteries short out or otherwise overheat, the phone could catch on fire, and in the rarest of cases kill you that way...
