? bacteria vrs viral: What you describe sounds like a common cold best treated with a decongestant like Pseudafed, gargle with original Listerine alternating with a juice glass of warm water with a stirring teaspoonful of salt and rest voice. If cough is present, treat the cough. If you speak don't whisper as these worsens voice loss every 4 hours. If worse/not better in 2 more days go to urgent care for evaluation.
