Yes: If you are having or planning to have a sexual relationship and you do not want to become pregnant, then contraceptives are a good idea. See your doctor to make sure that you get the contraceptive that is safest for you.

Yes: It is fine to take oral contraceptives if you have never been pregnant before. They will not affect your fertility and are safe for healthy women. They prevent pregnancy, lighten your periods, and improve pain and other symptoms associated with your menstrual cycle. Speak to your doctor first however to ensure that you do not have any medical conditions that would preclude you from taking them.
