A member asked:

It's it safe to take zofran (ondansetron) during pregnancy? pharmacist had told me no, but they were really pushing it in the er today

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Zofran (ondansetron): there is a slight risk of cleft palate or lip associated with zofran (ondansetron). In general, I have stopped using it unless the pateint is over 14 weeks gestation. However, if nausea and vomitting of pregnancy is severe you can have real problems associated with it, so it still will be used for severe nausea and vomitting. Talk to your OB before making a decision. Your pharmacist isn't an OB expert.
