Balance: Side effects from atenolol include lightheadedness from too low a blood pressure or too slow a pulse. I recommend that you check your blood pressure and pulse sitting and standing both in the morning and evening when you are symptomatic. Report these values to your physician and he/she can determine whether your dose is appropriate and whether you are experiencing side effects from the medication.
