Depends: Cellulitis is inflammation of the skin and underlying soft tissue in a certain area. It can have many causes, and the duration of it will depend on how long it takes the underlying cause, such as infection, to resolve. It can take anywhere from a day or two to a few weeks. Sometimes it requires an operation to remove the affected tissue. It is rare for nerves to be permanently affected.
