A member asked:

I had a urinalysis for chlamydia 4 days after a possible exposure. they told me they needed early first stream. mine wasn't. will this affect accuracy?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Test preparation: Yes-- getting an old or partly degenerate specimen, especially for a mycoplasma test will decrease the sensitivity. Getting the right test done with a bad specimen is a waste of your time and money.
