A member asked:

Giving blood tomorrow at 1pm, have a date at 8pm...would effect of a couple of beers be more increased than usual, or marginally?

Thank you: Thank you for donating blood and being a good citizen. Drink 2-3 glasses of water before you donate and 2-3 glasses of juice after donating. I would not recommend beer even if you did not donate blood. Alcohol does no good to any one. For good health - Have a diet rich in fresh vegetables, fruits, whole grains, low fat milk and milk products, nuts, beans, legumes, lentils and small amounts of lean meats. Avoid saturated fats. Exercise at least 150 minutes/week and increase the intensity of exercise gradually. Do not use tobacco or alcohol in any form. Practice safe sex.
