How many people get perianal abscesses and fistulas without having ibd? how common is it? i had one 6 years ago and is scared i might have chron's.

IBD is unlikely: These things can indeed go along with inflammatory bowel disease (Crohn's disease, ulcerative colitis). However, the large majority of perianal fistulas and abscesses occur in people without IBD. Crohn's is unlikely unless you also have bouts of diarrhea, cramping, abdominal pain, and/or blood in your stools. If in doubt, see a doctor. Good luck!
