My neck has pinched nerve on right side...i turned to look at phone , heard a little crack near base of neck on right side ? what is that?

Can't be sure: With the nerve being pinched the muscles go into spasm and they put pressure on the facets in the neck. When these facets "adjust" like at a chiropractor often there is a pop. Of course hard to say for sure.
