Not necessarily.: An abnormal discharge can be due to an infection or spotting between cycles, among other causes. If your period is late, check a pregnancy test. If negative or if you have had unprotected sex with someone whom you don't know for sure is disease free (and with whom you have been in a long-term monogamous relationship), get checked for an infection.
