Cellulitis +/- absce: Take your dad back to see his treating physician and tell him/her what you've noted. May need culture to determine type of bacteria and appropriate antibiotic. Perhaps redness is allergic reaction? Ask if dad qualifies for home health to send nurse/wound specialist to assist w/wound care & monitor infection. Also need to monitor sugars closely as sudden increase suggests spreading infection.
