Tough to say : It depends on how long the symptoms have been going on, and whether or not they are worse with food, along with the severity. Not everyone has the classic clinical picture of symptomatic gallstones: pain in right upper abdomen, radiating to the back about 30' after eating. Maybe Not: Just because someone has gallstones, does not mean they need to have it removed. If there are no symptoms, then it be be treated conservatively without surgery at this time.
