Be sure of diagnosis: If you've had a vaginal yeast infection before and the symptoms are the same, it should be safe to try one of the many available over the counter treatments. But see a doctor if not better in a few days. If no previous yeast or uncertain about the symptoms, see your doctor to confirm the diagnosis and check for other possibilities. Other problems, including STDs, can cause similar symptoms.
