Muscle?: Are you talking about the right side of the face and upper or lower jaw. This can happen but is unusual place for this to occur. If you have been chewing or excessively chewing or grinding teeth this could make a difference. Usually is not serious and should go away on its own.

Jaw spasm: Could be TMJ (try motrin /aleve if not allergic) or even retropharyngeal abscess, tooth abscess, rarely may be trigeminal neuralgia, shingles or herpes which can be treated with acyclovir 200 mg 3 tabs TID, medication like tricyclics, tumors, ankylosis I assume you are up to date in tetanus and did not have a recent cut abrasion Follow up with doc /uregent care
