Contraceptives: There are many contraceptives that can be started right after delivery and while still breast feeding. You want to avoid pills with estrogen until you stop breast feeding completely because they can make your milk dry up. Discuss your options with your OB. Breast feeding provides some protection only as long as you are doing it exclusively and not even using a pacifier. Hope this helps.
