Depends: I guess it depends on what the operation is, and the urgency. If it is totally elective, consider a hematology consult. I would start however by discussing with the surgeon, and also consider an anesthesia consult. They will frequently do a preop screening, but should do a more thorough eval if asked. Hope this helps!
