Check with US: One of the frequent causes of mild bleeding in the first trimester is a trophoblast (which becomes the placenta) whose edge covers the internal os of the cervix. It usually withdraws and may cause some bleedingk, with no further problems. A follow-up should give you the answer, Including demise of a twin or impending miscarriage. Please note that "check with US" meant "check with ultrasound"

May be normal: Some spotting is normal because of the developping fetus but heavy bleeding and cramping could be a sign of miscarriage or ectopic pregnancy that you can not ignore it.

Relax: As long as all you saw was light pink when you wiped then you probably should not be too concerned. Unless you see more blood or start having cramping, don't worry. Try to drink a large glass of water, lay down and put your feet up and take it easy. If you have not had your initial prenatal visit, you should make sure that is scheduled soon, and take prenatal vitamins with Folic Acid.
