Thinned endomtrial: lining. You had break through bleeding for some reason either you did not take the active pills on time or you missed one or some other reasons. Birth control pill thins the inner lining of the uterus. Your break thru bleeding made the thining even worse and by the time you heat to placebo pills there is almost no inner lining left. This is why you did not bleed during placebo.
