Depends: How many days after the hpt was the blood test done? If it was two weeks after the positive hpt, it is could be that an early pregnancy was lost spontaneously. However, from what you described you did not have a period between the positive hpt and negative blood test. As I may have stated earlier, I would question the technique of doing the hpt.
