Yes: Menstrual flow doesn't contain just blood. It also contains the spongy lining of the uterus that sloughs off each month, vaginal mucus and epithelial cells etc etc. Also, the consistency varies along with hormonal fluctuations from month to month, what part of your period you're in and how heavy the flow is. Assuming you don't have other menstrual problems, you can rest easy!
