A member asked:

Can mild sodium deficiency (hyponatraemia) due to prescription drug or other reasons exist when standard blood test for electrolytes is normal?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

By definition no: Unless there is a lab error (and these panels are prone to problems), hyponatremia is simply not present if the blood sodium is normal. Some people try to second-guess based on their symptoms; this is understandable but is a mistake. Look for some other cause instead.
