If tie durable; No;: although rarely the tie/ligation is not effective long term, the fallopian tube recanalates or was never actually blocked. This is the purpose of a hysterosalpingogram to visualize the patency or non-patency of the two fallopian tubes. Alternative: IVF (In Vitro Fertilization) & intrauterine transfer is the other option, though success rates are usually rather low.
